When I was doing the hiring for a "dot com" I was astounded by the number of people who believed that their credentials should carry them with no reflection on how they would fit in to the company.
Conversely, I would see people who would do and say anything to get a foot in the door but could not even begin to tell me what their strong points were or where they would like to improve.
I believe that an accurate representation of my abilities, my demeanour and credentials is what I want a potential employer to consider. However, I think that it's vital to tell them what they want to
hear as long as it is truthful so they can see that I have considered how I would benefit the company in very real terms.

I prepare for interviews like I would prepare for a marathon run. Collating information about the company, job, essential criteria and mentally rehearse the interview like David Beckham rehearses
those Free Kicks that win goals for England. So by the time the panel have asked me questions; I answer them with my knowledge, abilities and relevant examples to illuminate these skills.
I am also interviewing the employer and when they offer me the job, I decide if I would like to accept. If I am unsuccessful, or decline the offer then I reflect on the entire
process and take this learning into the next job application.
I work as a Freelance Trainer and coach; a lot of my work is empowering people to prepare for presentations and interviews. Enabling my clients to feel empowered and confident as they walk into the
interview gives me a real buzz!!
