Stephen's Story

The Watts FamilyBack in October 2006 I attended my first ‘7 Rules Of Success’ seminar run by Fiona Harrold, and in April 2007 I attended the final one. The series of 7 sessions was a real eye opener for me. What exactly does success mean to me?

A powerful question anyone of us could ask ourselves! The definition of success is such a personal thing.

Follow My Dream

Following on from the seminars I decided to work with Fiona as my coach to try and help me define exactly what I was after from my life. 6 years ago I decided to leave the corporate world and to follow my dream of setting up my own business, running a holiday complex in France.

Having achieved this, the prospect of a regular and good salary back in the corporate world kept coming up as a strong temptation. I worked with Fiona to identify what it was that was causing me to look back into my old world and concluded the comfort and safety factors were the pull and the fear of failure in my current venture, the push.

This helped me decide to take control of my life and decide on my ideal plan going forward.

The decisions I made following my coaching with Fiona allowed me to fully focus my energies on where I wanted to go and to stop looking backwards.

Clear Strategy

6 months on, my French business is running much more smoothly, the continuing renovations have a clear strategy and I’m on the verge of launching a really exciting new business back in the UK.

All this has required hard work and courage as the option of a safe life, when things are going wrong, can be quite appealing.

Without embarking on my coaching journey I’m convinced I would now be back working in my old corporate arena, and the thought of that is not a good one for me!

Following Your Dreams

I do believe that following your dreams is always worth doing, taking into account the need for a realistic approach and plan to achieve them – nothing happens by talking and taking no actions!

The next 12 months for me and my new business venture are by no means certain, safe or completely mapped out. However I’m looking forward to each and every challenge and know that with the help of some further coaching along the way, success will be mine! Bon courage to you all in whatever you decide to do.
