Rachel's Story
It must be about 18 months since I first read Fiona's book "Be Your Own Life Coach". I spotted it while looking for something interesting to read in the local book store. Once started I could hardly put it down & have since reread it at least 5 times.
I realised immediately that I need to make changes to my life. I was involved in an organisation which I had felt for a while was draining my energy & happiness. Within a week I had confronted the issues & was on my way to a new life.
Everything made so much sense, I started making more time for myself, starting only in little ways, but respecting myself more. I had already started to loose weight and get fit, but the book spurred me on and gave me that extra push I needed to continue my motivation & belief in myself.
Four months ago I qualified as a gym instructor and am looking forward to doing a personal trainer course to follow.
I have so much more confidence to try new things and& mix with other new people, which is down to believing I can and just plain old getting on and starting it. Fiona is right, once you have made the first move towards something new the rest seems to follow on and is never quite as difficult as it seemed!
My children respect me more, they are more confident, my husband has a "new" and much slimmer/fitter wife. My whole home has had a declutter, as well as the wardrobe as Fiona suggests.
I only have items in my home that I love and enjoy, I have donated anything that doesn't fit that description to charity shops or friends.
I am now much more open to trying new things. A good test to that was when my husband was offered a job relocation in the States and although nervous we jumped at the chance, something I would not have done that easily before.
We move next week and have sold our home and are buying another there, I would never have thought we would ever have such an amazing home ever, it is bigger and better than I could ever have imagined.
I hope to pursue a career in fitness after we have settled in. Again, fitness is something I would never have considered as a career "before Fiona" but I love it and is so part of my life, a job in that area would be ideal!
I have read several times "The Ten-Minute Life Coach" too, and have bought copies for various friends.
Fiona has given me the kick start I needed in life, to realise that actually I have what I want in life if I am prepared to work at it and I know people see me differently too, I feel years younger and I even feel attractive too. I sometimes look at myself in the mirror and know that I look good, again a whole new outlook.
I did the Reinvent Yourself online course a while ago and am rereading that as this is the perfect time to be doing it, moving to a new country with new people, I really can be who ever I want!!
Thanks Fiona xx
