Liz's Story
Bit of a blip this week I'm afraid. It was my last session with Fiona and maybe I was a bit worried about how I'd cope on my own. The session started with me saying that I'd looked at a house in my local area, Dundee.
"Why?" was Fiona's response. I mumbled something about wanting to keep my options open, but I knew what was coming out of my mouth wasn't right!
It kept me awake most of the night when, at about 3 in the morning, a light came on in my head - it was that old "fear of failure" trying hard to creep in.
Once I'd identified what was wrong I actually felt much better. I will go to York and I will find my ideal job and house there.
Moving On
If I don't do it now I know I'll always regret not trying it. I have also identified that I would like to return to counselling and take further training - I used to be a bereavement counsellor - as well as setting up my own virtual PA service.
I can never thank Fiona enough for putting up with me and pushing me when I needed it. I'm determined never to go back to the old "stuck-in-a-rut" me, that's for sure.
I've been lucky enough to read some of Fiona's books and listen to her Falling in Love with Yourself CD. I'll continue to use these regularly to reinforce the new dynamic me.
The exercise is going well - that is something I never thought I'd bother with again, but I'm really enjoying it.
Off To York?
I want to thank everyone one who has read and commented on these blogs - I'm sure you'll still be hearing from me in the future.
Maybe I'll be in York the next time - my house is going on the market within the next few weeks, only a bit of decorating and a new kitchen and it's ready.
