Carmel McConnell
Carmel McConnell is a best selling author and social entrepreneur.
Her career has been unusual, spanning full on social activism (including life at Greenham Common) as well as senior business success. She consults at Board level to a range of firms on how to grow ethical business and CSR.
In 2001 Carmel founded Magic Breakfast a registered charity which provides a nutritious breakfast free of charge to primary school schoolchildren at risk of hunger or malnourishment. During 2004 it provided 70,000 free breakfasts. She is now working with schools to help them become financially self-sufficient – able to fund nutritious food permanently.
Carmel’s Make Money Be Happy strategy has allowed her to run Magic Breakfast for two years without taking a salary. She is doing what she really wants to do, and believes passionately in helping others make the same transition. It is a message she spreads through speaking events and seminars.
