Fear & Potential
Tuesday, May 22 2007"In a moment we catch a glimpse of the potential of all that we can be and in a moment we can lose that to fear."
These are the words of the mighty Nelson Mandela. I can relate to this and I bet you can too.
In fact, the moment you anticipate your potential - and heart's desire - you run the risk of provoking your demons - fear and self-doubt.
It's almost a reflex response. Perhaps it's best to think of this response as the inevitable price to be paid for living an interesting and fulfilling life.
And, forewarned is forearmed! If you are prepared for the flipside of desire, you are less likely to be shocked and thrown off course. On the contrary, you can welcome your pals, fear and self-doubt by taking them out to lunch and disarming them with a mix of commonsense and courage.
In doing so, you will stand out from the average individual in the UK. In last week's survey pointing out that two out of three workers feel miserable or unfulfilled in their jobs, many spoke of their desire for change. They also admitted to a fear of failure holding them back
And the tragedy is this: you more you give in to your fear, the more you feed it - the stronger its grip, and the weaker your resolve.
I'll be looking at this and all the other ingenious ways you might have to hamper your fabulous potential in my new Purpose, Passion & Destiny seminar in London on the 30th June.
I've had a terrific response to this workshop and I'm so looking forward to meeting many of you there and facilitating a few light bulb moments!
Apologies to those of you outside of central London who have requested visits from me! I will not be coming but, by October, I'll have coaches licensed to run my courses in the far-flung North, South, East and West of the UK, and beyond.
In the meantime, I'll see you at the mind body spirit festival on Sunday, where I'm running a workshop on The 7 Rules of Success and/or coaching your Purpose, Passion & Destiny on 30th June!
