Are You In A Rut?
Tuesday, May 16 2006Dear friend,
are you stuck in a rut? I'm sure you know that "groundhog day" feeling of every day feeling the same as the one before and the one before that. And the thing about being in a rut is that you can get into one without ever noticing it happening.
How do you know if you're in one? What are the tell-tale signs? In my own experience and through helping others break out of their ruts, I can say that there's always a feeling of flatness, an overall lack of enthusiasm, a sense of "is this all there is?"
You may even wonder whether you're "depressed," should maybe see your GP and take a little prozac.
In the vast majority of cases, the problem has been nothing more serious that a good, old-fashioned rut! And my clients often breathe a sigh of relief when they hear that the problem isn't them - it's their life - and there's a remedy.
And the remedy has either been one little change - a new hobby, a fresh challenge, better job OR a complete life overhaul. Either way, it's always fixable. I coached a lady on this very issue last year for a magazine and I include that feature here along with my tips for Breaking Out of A Rut.
I've also asked the wonderful Cherry Claus to put together a Rut Busting Package. If you would like to take a personal look at your lifestyle, Cherry will help you step back and take a calm view of your overall situation and find workable solutions to create a more fulfilling and interesting life.
And she's giving you an amazing 40% discount off her normal fees for this package for the rest of May! Just contact her on 020 7289 1322 or by e-mail to cherry@fionaharrold.com
Remember – prevention is better than cure, so it's always useful to run a check and avoid having to dig yourself out of a rut later on!
