The Real You
Tuesday, November 29 2005Dear friend,
in just over a week I'll be spending the day with many of you coaching you to Reinvent Yourself. You could be forgiven for thinking that this will have you emerging as a brand new you. As the song goes, "you could be anyone, anyone at all."
But I believe the most profound, most powerful, most enduring reinvention may entail a return to The Real You. Your reinvention may be more of a renewal that encourages you to become who you were born to be, rather than adopting a few new traits and characteristics.
None of us are born as passive blobs waiting for the world to stamp its imprint on us. Instead we show up possessing already a highly refined and individual soul. We come into this world with a specific, personal destiny. We have a job to do, a calling to enact, a self to become. We are who we are from the cradle. Our job in this lifetime is to find out who we already are and become it.
If you were born to paint, it's your job to become a painter. If you were born to raise and nurture children, it's your job to become a mother. If you were born to overthrow ignorance and injustice in the world, it's your job to realize this and get down to business.
In the end the question can only be answered by action. Do it or don't do it. Fulfilling your destiny is not a selfish act. It's your contribution, your gift to the world. Give us what you've got!
If this rings bells for you, it's worth putting a few hours aside to work on it. This is what I'll be working with you on at my Reinvent Yourself seminar in London on 10th Dec. You can read more about it below or book here now.
Look forward to seeing you there. Once you've booked, e-mail me with a brief description of what you want to get out of the day, fiona@fionaharrold.com.
