First Impressions
Tuesday, July 26 2005
Dear friend,
I hope this finds you well. Following on from our gorgeousness theme, this week we're looking at First Impressions.
It is a harsh fact of life that first impressions count, and whether or not we like this we all know that on slovenly days when we can't be bothered to do our hair or get dressed up, the world responds to us in a totally different day.
Yet with glossy hair, glowing skin and smart clothes we miraculously become attractive and admired. We give off a different vibe that people respond to.
And the alarming fact is that first impressions take about ten seconds to be formed, and there are no second chances. It's no wonder that many City organisations employ professional stylists to advise senior staff on their dress and appearance.
I met one such stylist recently who confided in me that one very well-known accountancy firm that she consults with, actually rates staff in terms of their appearance! In that competitive world and every other world - appearance counts.
With that in mind, there is only one person to advise us and it's our brilliant new Image & Style Coach, Emma Ford. If you feel your first impression could be enhanced or would like to upgrade your appearance and attractiveness, get in touch with emma@fionaharrold.com or call her on 01304 366711.
She has written a brilliant guide to gorgeousness for us all – men and women - our new online course, Be Gorgeous. You can view an extract from Module One of Be Gorgeous here.
