Change How You Feel About How You Look
Tuesday, October 25 2005Dear friend,
we're looking at your appearance this week, or rather at the way you feel about your appearance. We are all more image conscious than ever before. That's not necessarily bad news - I'm all for as many facials and massages as time and money permit, and keeping in shape.
But, what is bad is that according to a new survey reported in October's Vogue, a staggering 87% of Brits are unhappy with how they look. I wonder whether cosmetic surgery would help? In some cases yes, but in the majority of cases, I suspect not.
If we are utterly convinced that we are ugly or unattractive, then a smaller nose or brow lift or a few shots of botox are unlikely to transform how we feel about our appearance, how we fundamentally see ourselves.
The answer to the question of how attractive you think you are is exactly that – you're as attractive as you think you are.
No amount of cosmetic work will remove a lifetime's belief in one's own essential unattractiveness. That can only be unseated by tackling the root cause – our beliefs and feelings about our appearance.
So, are you ready to improve how you feel about how you look? Would you benefit from enhancing your perception of yourself, with a nip and tuck to your thinking? I think we all would!
So, I've asked our utterly gorgeous (she's convinced of her own gorgeousness and we are too!) Image Coach, Emma Ford, to step forwards and coach us on how to appreciate our own unique gorgeousness – and that includes you men as well!
If you'd like to speak to Emma personally, just get in touch, emma@fionaharrold.com. As well as her styling and shopping services, Emma will coach you by phone to improve your appearance – and how you feel about it.
