Build Your Business
Tuesday, May 10 2005Dear friend,
I hope this finds you well. A Huge Thank-You to all of you who have sent emails of encouragement during my election campaign, and special thanks to those of who who emailed to say you'd voted for me in Hammersmith & Fulham! I'm delighted that many of you have actually joined the Green Party over the last few weeks and were out campaigning for your local candidate. If you would like to join or find out more, email me personally or call the national office, 020 7272 4474.
Although I didn't win, the Green vote went up by nearly 50% from the last Election and nationally, the vote increased tremendously, so that if we had a PR system, the Green Party would actually have 22 Members of Parliament right now. Our Green coach, Julia Stephenson, standing against Tory grandee Sir Malcolm Rifkind in the very safe blue seat of Kensington & Chelsea, also increased her share of the vote. Don't miss her Green Goddess column in The Independent every Monday.
I've been thinking about what it takes to build a successful organisation, be it a business or a political party and talking it over with our brilliant coach, Francine Kaye. Francine works within organisations to trouble shoot and coach teams and individuals to improve their businesses. She also coaches private clients to build their businesses, many of whom are self-employed, small business owners and entrepreneurs. With her background in marketing, she is uniquely qualified to teach us all a few things!
I've asked her to offer a new workshop on this very theme and I'm delighted to say that the very first Build Your Business workshop takes place in London on 9th July. Click here for details. Please book immediately as I have no doubt places will fill quickly. Francine also has her first book out in the shops this week: Time to Live is published by Hodder Mobius, and available from us here. Congratulations Francine!
