Believe In You

Tuesday, November 23 2004

I hope this finds you well and having a great week so far. Last week I urged you to look on the bright side and think optimistically, with new research showing how you’d be likely to live longer if you did. This week, I want to encourage you to think optimistically about yourself. As the great Henry Ford said "Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re usually right." There was a man who instinctively understood the power of your beliefs.

The good news is, that you can take control of your thinking and determine your beliefs any time you’re ready. In fact, I would recommend that you get into the habit of watching your beliefs on a regular basis, allowing only the very best and most useful to remain in your psyche.

An interesting, ambitious life requires exceptional self-belief and I smiled as I read an interview today with the brilliant young British actor, Toby Stephens, currently playing Hamlet in London to rave reviews and packed houses. Reflecting on his current success he went on to say, "one of the many bum things about being an actor is you can never be sure that anyone’s going to want you. Can you imagine going up for job interviews once or twice a week and being rejected nine times out of 10? That’s the trickiest part of the job - you’ve got to have insane self-belief to withstand that."

If you’d like insane self-belief - or just a modest upgrade - our wonderful confidence coach Mike Blissett is the man to talk to. A former West End performer himself, he is utterly brilliant at spotting your limiting beliefs, demolishing them and building far more useful and exciting ones for you. And it really works.

I’ve had the joy of hearing from his clients at first-hand how they’ve transformed their lives with his help. I’ve asked Mike to take the stage here and give us some guidance on enhancing our self-belief. He’s taking an afternoon seminar in London this Saturday 27th, and following requests he'll also be leading the seminar in Manchester in March next year - see the News page for full booking details. Give yourself a pre-Christmas boost and come along to the London date. You can, of course, work with him personally, by contacting him directly, mike@fionaharrold.com
