Jennifer had a hugely successful career in the NHS. She’d even been awarded an MBE. But she knew she’d gone as far as she could there. To have more impact and reach thousands more people, she would have to leave and after 25 years of a modest salary, she longed to be able to have more free time, travel to see her family in the Caribbean and not be always worried about making ends meet.

She came to me to map out what that new business could look like and how she could make money.
Jennifer had two big problems that may resonate with you. She wasn’t fully seeing her true worth and value in the market place, in her case, to private healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies.
She didn’t know how to make money because she’d never had to! A sum of money had landed in her bank account every month.
Jennifer had to learn to do what many people avoid doing. It’s the thing that could make the difference between you making money and none at all.
What is it? It’s to ASK. You have to ASK people to work with you, to buy your products and services. The BEST way to get clients right now is by picking up the phone and speaking to people. You must make a connection and ASK for the sale. Take 100% responsibility for your offerings and for helping people.
So, I got Jennifer to create a list of people to reach out to. These were a mix of people she had previously worked with and a few she hadn’t.
I then walked her through how to reach out to them to set up the conversation, have a conversation that connected with people, quickly get to the heart of their problem, offer her solution and then, crucially, ask for the business.
ONE HOUR and FIVE calls later, she had made SIX THOUSAND POUNDS.
And, she was changed forever. She’d learnt how to do business and how to make money.
She said, “All I did was ask. I didn’t feel embarrassed. I just explained how I could help and people were grateful that I’d made the effort to get in touch.”
If you are looking to fill a programme or get clients, brainstorm a list of 25 people, then pick up the phone, show them how you can help, and ASK for the sale. Don’t hide behind your computer. Connect and ask.
To truly make a difference and make money, LOVE your clients and be of service. If you can help someone, say so. If you can’t, say so. When I know I can help someone and they don’t invest to get my help, I genuinely feel sorry because I know they won’t get the results they would with my help. I have no hesitation in asking for the sale because of the Return on Investment I know they’ll get. You have to be clear in this way.
