Don’t listen to anyone else – only me

‘Don’t listen to anyone else – only me.’ You’re probably wondering why I would say something like that. Here’s why:

On Sunday, my son, Jamie, played his first public gig as a DJ. Nothing unusual there, you may be thinking, but it was in the main room of top London club, Pacha. For a new DJ, this is unheard of. It’s unthinkable.

It’s unthinkable – unless you decide to think differently. Which is why I said to Jamie, ‘Don’t talk to anyone else about your way of thinking and your plan. Don’t listen to anyone else – only me.’ I pointed out why some people were struggling and, although much more experienced than him, were not getting the big breaks. The foundation of their thinking, their view of the world was setting them up for the results they were getting.

In other words, their paradigm was leading to their experience.

My Dream has come true

This time two years ago I was preparing to move out of my beautiful home that I could no longer afford to pay for. My son was furious with me for uprooting him and I was struggling to pay basic bills. I was making less money than when I’d first started out as a Coach.

I’ve shared previously how this had all come about, how I’d felt burnt out and questioned whether I wanted to continue working in Coaching at all. I took a long break, wrote 8 chapters of a novel and used up all my savings and equity.

The day came when I had to make big, bold decisions. I wanted to Coach again but I knew I needed to work differently. I knew I needed help to do that. I searched to find the right person, someone who could inspire and lead me to get back on my feet again, better than before. And, I needed to do that fast.

I struggled to find a great mentor. And then I found a woman whose words struck a chord.

I couldn’t afford to work with her personally or even join any of her Group Programmes, so I soaked up her free Newsletters and Telecalls. As soon as I could afford to, I invested in her online Programmes, but the dream was that someday I would travel to the US and work with her in person.

That woman was Kendall Summerhawk. And the dream is about to come true.

Here’s why people don’t earn more

Do you think you should be making more money?
Would you like to raise your fees but worry that people won’t pay you?
Do you struggle to get people to buy your services or products?

Believe it or not, there was a time, I would have shouted YES! to these questions. To figure out the answers, I got on a plane and travelled half way across the world to get help from the best people in their field in the US. In the past 18 months, I have invested significant amounts of money in learning how to make more money, raise my fees and and sell more services and products than ever before. I want to pass on all that learning to you, so watch out for all my emails over the next few weeks.

First off, I want to give you the 3 main reasons that people don’t earn the income they want:

#1 They lack confidence

They lack confidence in themselves and their product or services. This comes across in how they present themselves, in person, on the phone and on paper. A lack of confidence will mean you’ll struggle to sell and really struggle to charge more and get it. If you don’t have utter confidence in you, people will struggle to commit to you, at any price. People need to feel your confidence. They need to feel reassured that you’re someone they can trust to help them with their problem. There’s often a lot of fear and worry within people and what they really need is to feel safe in investing in you. If you can’t give them that feeling, they will walk away. Continue reading »
