The Money-Spinner – What’s Your Motivation?

Work Up Your Motivation
Give yourself permission to stoke up the fire of your desire. You can get focus on the practicalities later and you’ll spend half your time at my new Money-Spinner workshop planning and dealing with the details, but for now, you should dream a little. Work on your motivation get excited – otherwise, you won’t even get started.

To convince you that it really is possible to come up with a money-making Money-Spinner look at one woman who has achieved setting up a business based on her skills and talents.

Claire came to me two years ago following a traumatic family bereavement. As the sole parent of her two young children, she was keen to move on from the demanding management consultancy that she had set up. I encouraged Claire to see how exceptional she was in being female and financially-savvy. I persuaded her to appreciate that many women do not have a confident grip on money matters and that there was a great need for a female wealth creation and advice service. Over to Claire:

‘When circumstances in my life meant the need for more flexibility, Fiona coached me to identify the skills and talents I already had and could turn into a money-spinning service that would fit into my life. The result is, wealthsquared.co.uk a financial advice service for women. I’m delighted to say that it provides me with a five-figure income and supports our lifestyle which has just included our five-week round the worldtrip. I’m still on a high as I’m sewing on the new school uniform labels. Good luck with your money-spinner!’

Well done Claire, you deserve all your success, and I’m thrilled to have you on our website as our brilliant Wealth Coach.

Spot Your Talents / Part Two

It’s wonderful – it’s vital – to spot your talents. It’s fabulous to get busy expressing them. But – if you want to make extra money from your skills, which of your talents or skills is your Money-Spinner? What skill do you already have that can make you money straightaway? How would it feel if you generated an additional £300/ £500 per month? That’s the challenge I’ve thrown a few clients recently and a challenge I’m inviting you to take on. I’m not one to scrimp or make do. I’d rather come up with some money-making ideas and generate extra cash than have to cut back.

Let’s grab the challenge of making more money and grow bigger in the process. In my last blog, I encouraged you to spot your talents, to identify what skills you already possess, what you can do right now, or are already doing – perhaps, for free – that could bring in cash. Now, I want to encourage you to focus on which of those skills could make you money fast. What is your Money-Spinner? I’m giving away a copy of my cd, Falling in Love with Yourself every day to the best Money-Spinning idea! And to encourage you to really take control of your life and get serious about handling your finances we’re offering our fabulous Course Package: Banish Your Money Woes at a whopping 40% discount. So here’s a few questions to spot your Money-Spinning idea:

What’s Your Money-Spinner?

1/ The fastest path to cash are ideas for which you already have everything you need
. To get going right now, you need to be able to offer your service today. If you need equipment, try and borrow until you’ve made some money. If you feel you need to take a course, could you offer one service now and another, additional service, later?

2/ Don’t be precious about passion. Don’t get wound up worrying about your purpose in life. If your life requires you to step up and generate extra cash in our credit-crunch times, do it. It’s perfectly noble to make your life work and if clearing debts, saving your home, sending your kids to college are priorities, prioritise them.

3/ You need a lightbulb moment. If you’re not having a flash of inspiration, if you can’t see what people would be prepared to pay you for, find the smartest person you know and ask them. Better, book a Money-Spinner session with one of my team.

4/ How much cash do you want to make? I say, start small and build up. Work out how much per month, per week, per day you want to make. Figure out how many hours you’d have to work or products you’d have to sell. What price can you charge? Can you do it? If not, find another idea.

5/ What difference will £300/£500 extra cash make to your life? There’s your incentive!

And, if you fancy making money and helping a good cause email me! My wonderful brother’s charity, www.pingcharity.co.uk has just started a brilliant money-making scheme where they supply you with fabulous jewelry, you sell it, make money for yourself and a share of the profits goes straight to the Gambia to get clean water to people and help them get going in life. BRILLIANT! Email me, support@fionaharrold.com and I’ll put you in touch with the ping person!

What’s your Money-Spinner? Share it here. At the end of every day for the next seven days, I’ll be posting a copy of Falling in Love with Yourself to the best Money-Spinner!

This is What The Fairy Job Mother is Missing

This is What The Fairy Job Mother is Missing

Last night I watched the new Channel 4 series, The Fairy Job Mother, in which employment expert, Hayley Taylor, set out to help Dean and Maxine find jobs after two years being unemployed. Hayley landed Dean a new job and found Maxine work experience. Dean loves his job so much that he says, ‘If my boss told me tomorrow he couldn’t afford to keep me on, I’d just keep working for free’. Wrong, wrong, wrong!
Herein lies the problem with this programme – and I’d like to gift Dean our …

Why The Secret Doesn’t (Always) Work

Why The Secret Doesn't (Always) Work

The Secret came out in 2006 and has been a global phenomenon, sitting on best-seller lists for much of that time. Its simple message that you can think yourself thin, happy, rich and everything else is seductive. And it appears to work for many. But for many others – it doesn’t.

Get Out of Your Own Way! – 3 steps to take you from sabotage to success.

The world is made up of two types of people – those who are onside and those who aren’t. Where do you stand? You’re either backing yourself or you’re tripping yourself up, holding yourself back while others less good, less deserving, less talented pip you at the post.
