Top "Time for You" Tips

When will I ever have time for myself?

Ever uttered those words as you flop down exhausted at the end of a day spent on everything and everybody else except you?

The truth is there is will never be time for you until you understand that when you yes to one thing you are always saying no to another! There is no more measured time for any of us, but there is a way to feel more in control, increase your personal productivity, and focus on what's important. The first step is to get really conscious of how you spend your time.

Top Time for You Tips

1. Take l5 minutes of quiet planning time each day
use this time to plan your working day and your own time.  Schedule in your breaks by noticing how your body clock works - and finish your working day at a reasonable time.

2. Know your outcome
Before you make any decision or attempting any task - know why you are doing it and what you'll have achieved when you've done it. Be very specific. This saves masses of wasted time and energy.

3. Focus on what's most important every day
Follow the 20/80 principles. 80% of the value is in 20% of the tasks. Out of list of 10 'to do's' two are vital - do those first and don't get distracted.

4. Learn to say No
Every time you say 'yes' to taking on another commitment, you are saying 'no' to time for you.  Get tough and communicate.  Let people know that you are as committed to your life as you are to your work - you'll give them permission to get balance back into their own lives.

5. Spend more time on your life list than you do on your shopping List!
This is not a dress rehearsal. Create your vision of a balanced life and then do what it takes to live it!

And…..

"If you don't think every day is a good day, just try missing one".
