Leap Of Faith
In a recent Success Group, Fiona spoke about "pulling" what you want closer to you, using the power of your thoughts and intention.
A number of years ago I decided I wanted to travel around Australia on my own. I had absolutely no money and had no idea how I would pay for the trip.
But what I did know was that I was absolutely certain I was going. I was living in Dublin, working part-time in a menial job. If I had had to save for the holiday, it probably would have taken a couple of years to save enough money just for the air fare!
Leap Of Faith
I took a leap of faith and decided I was going. I cut out a picture of a very famous landmark in Australia and pinned it to the shelf at the bottom of my bed.
Every morning when I woke up, and every night when I went to bed, I saw Australia in the sunset smiling back at me. I wanted it so much. I booked a flight, and paid a few pounds for the deposit.
I decided exactly how much I needed to make the trip comfortable, a lot of money for someone who didn't have any. My next focus was that exact figure of money.
Miraculously, a couple of weeks later I was cast in a commercial. The fee? Exactly the amount I had focused on! Now, I know what you're thinking - as an actor the chances of that happening were high.
Actually, the chances of it happening for me were extremely thin.
I had been attending commercial castings for approx 6 years and had never even got close to getting cast. In those six years, I'd never even been called back for a second casting, and was even told I didn't have a "commercial look"!
What do you really want?
Why do you want it?
Do you really believe you deserve to have it?
What do you focus on every day?
When you focus on the reasons why you can't achieve your goal, you just push yourself further and further away from it.
Don't take my word for it. Experiment and begin to "pull" something you really want towards you. What have you got to lose?
