Tips to Sharpen Your Perspective

Compare Yourself to Others

See how vast numbers of other people live. Understand the reality of their world as well as your own. Grasp the luxury you live with, however mundane it may seem to you. By comparison, you're living in paradise, even with your challenges.

Take a View

Distance yourself from the everyday routine by meditating for 15 mins every day, more if you like. This break from being 'on' will clear out clutter and busyness from your mind and bring clarity to your world.

Have an Attitude of Gratitude

List 20 things you can feel truly grateful for. Begin with clean running water on tap, electricity at the flick of a switch and food on the table.

Don't moan

Instead, identify the problem and figure out your options. If something or someone isn't to your liking do something. Either shift your attitude to acceptance or move on.

Be a force for good

We all have a part to play, one way or the other. Whether it's your choice of daily food by turning vegan or opening an orphanage in Nepal. Martin Luther King said:

"Everyone must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness. This is the judgement. Life's most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others?"
