Be Happy!
It's official; the more positive we are, the more happiness we cram into every waking moment, and the more pro-active we become in assuming responsibility for our life, the longer we’re likely to live.
With that in mind, from this moment on whether we see the glass as half full, or half empty, will make a difference. Having that knowledge also means we now have the responsibility to take action accordingly, and if that means upgrading our outlook on life, then that’s what we should do.
As a coach, it’s so easy to see that as a person changes their beliefs about the world, from unsupportive and negative to positive and life enhancing, so their energy lifts up to another level. They literally change before your very eyes.
Let’s Get Clear
Ask yourself the following questions:
- What do you do now that you know doesn’t serve you?
- Where are you short changing who you really are?
- When do you not tell yourself the truth?
- How could you support yourself in a more positive way?
So, now you know the truth - your truth, what are you going to do about it?
Get going - do it, and do it now. Look at all the beliefs surrounding whatever is negative or unsupportive in your life. What is the foundation for this outdated way of living? What belief is it that’s doing all the damage?
By highlighting what’s going on, realising just how much damage has already been done or still has the potential to be done in the future if left unchecked, we set out our territory and possibly see for the first time what has been stopping us moving forward and living our best life. After which, we need to decide; does this belief stay, or does it go? I hope I hear you deciding on the latter.
"It is good to dream, but it is better to dream and work. Faith is mighty, but action with faith is mightier"
Thomas Robert Gaines, Author, the Achieving Life
belief counts
Many describe their situation and then ask me if I believe they can change. The truth is that it doesn’t matter what I believe, it’s what they believe that counts. Believe the future will be better and it will be, believe it won’t, and you’ll be right, too.
For me, the most basic belief we can have is the belief that we will be happy.
It is a choice. In the movies joy ‘just happens’, in real life we chose it. We invite it in. We make it a home in our lives - and then guess what? It stays!
With happiness, we have better health, lighter days, more opportunity, the list really is endless.
It doesn’t stop you having a tough day once in a while, but it will change the way you deal with such a day. Suddenly you won’t be brought down so much; you will get through and recover quicker. You will, essentially live a better life.
