Lucy's Story
On New Years Eve I swore to myself that this year would be my best year yet. I wanted to achieve more goals, and fulfil my dream of becoming a successful actress.
Every year I constantly auditioned for a place at drama school, always getting to the final stages, but I was never offered a place. I was extremely frustrated and my motivation was fading. I knew that I needed drama training so that I could reach my full potential - I just didn't know how to get there. I was stuck.
A friend lent me Fiona's The Ten Minute Life Coach book and this was when my life changed. I automatically arranged to have a session with Rita Hamill, one of Fiona's life coaching team.
Getting Focused
After my first session with Rita I felt completely focused and determined that I could reach my dream - Rita made me realise that I could achieve anything. By de-cluttering things that were holding me back and blocking my creativity I was ready to focus on the real issues.
Rita suggested when I walked into the drama schools for my auditions to visualise that I was already at the school. During my auditions I would pretend that I was already at the school and that I was showing the teachers my end of term piece. This enabled me to own the space that I auditioned in, and I felt a lot more relaxed and focused.
One of the most important things that I learnt from Rita was that we all have our own journeys - if I was not offered a place at one drama school then that place was not for me. My place would be ready when I was ready. And then I was offered a place!
An Exciting New Start
This October I am extremely excited as I begin my two-year training at 'The Poor School'. One of my biggest worries was getting funding for the course, as I had saved some funds but not enough.
That is when I came up with the idea of inviting individuals to become my patrons where they could either send me a donation or they could sponsor me for each year of the course. I created a flyer titled "Are you sick of seeing reality TV stars? Why not invest in a shining star with an extremely bright future?"
The response has been great and people have been extremely generous Complete strangers are sending me cheques, and some extremely famous actors and actresses who constantly inspire me are sending me donations and very moving letters telling me how they believe in me.
I am still continuing to fundraise and I have complete faith that I shall raise enough funds to get me through drama school and become the successful actress that I am destined to be.
This is definitely my best year yet.
