Five Top Tips for Great Grooming

93% of what we think about people is guided by how they look. If you make a poor first impression on someone, you need to, on average, meet that person 47 further times to change that bad impression to a good impression.

Sadly, you really do not get a second chance to make a first impression.

1. Always, always, always wear proper fitting underwear. Your underwear is the foundation to a well-fitted outfit. You would not build a house without a good foundation but so many people make this mistake. Go to the professionals.

2. Do not wear the same outfit two days in a row. It ruins you clothes, but more importantly, it gives a very bad impression. Need I say more?

3. Never ever, wear chipped nail varnish. It is better to go without nail polish. Try clear polish or a French manicure, as they are easy to maintain.

4. If you are going for an interview or a first date, do not wear new clothes. The clothes will be wearing you instead of you wearing the clothes. Wear something that is tried and tested and in which you feel fabulous. Also, try on the entire outfit a few days before to ensure it still fits and does not look dated.

5. When buying coats, suits, shoes and bags, buy the best quality you can afford. It shows when they are cheap. You can afford to skimp on tops and jewellery. Go to the expensive shops at the beginning of the season and decide what you want and buy them at the end of the season in the sales. These shops often have 70% discount that can take the price down to High street prices.
