Debbie's Success Story
What does success mean?
Well the truth is that it means something different to everyone and some of us set ourselves difficult challenges to overcome before we really feel that we are successful.
My wonderful and courageous client Debbie knew when we began coaching together that in order to be as successful as she could be we would have to set the bar high. She had some major challenges to overcome. First she had to understand how what she was doing was preventing her from being who she really wanted to be.
Her story reveals her journey, which has required all her courage and commitment. I helped Debbie to create a solid foundation of her personal values and the joy of working with her has been to watch her use her values to redesign her life and regain her pride and her personal power.
I am so proud of what she has achieved through our work together and her own determination to make her life the very best it can be. Debbie is now flying and I know she will continue to do so – she is now unstoppable.
Debbie’s Story
By Debbie Martin
I had already made some big changes to my life before I met Francine. I had left a violent and abusive relationship, come to terms with an eating disorder, traded in my City job to re-train as a Beauty Therapist (something I had always been interested in) and wanted to set up my own business.
Amongst all these huge challenges and changes, the one thing that I had overlooked in all this was my relationship with me. I lacked self-esteem, self-belief and confidence... so to escape these feelings I drank too much and partied too hard and abused my body with recreational drugs.
Not a good fit with a career in beauty and I had reached the point where I wanted to change.
To start with Francine and I worked on a personal set of values, which to this day I carry in my handbag. These values have been instrumental in helping me rediscover who I was.
When you decide things are going to change you sometimes have to enrol friends and family into your new attitude, style of thinking and even how you want to be treated … sometimes the old jokes just don’t work anymore! And of course, you lose a few "friends" along the way who just cannot respect who you are becoming.
Francine taught me how important clear, strong communication is and how to get my message across without sounding needy or apologetic. Once I started down this path of change I have found life to be so much brighter and happier.
My coaching with Francine has always been supportive, motivational and inspiring. She set me tough goals and taught me to question, watch and notice both my behaviour and that of others. Without doubt, my coaching has helped me build stronger relationships.
Through beaureacratic Council Rules and Regulations, I never got to open my beauty salon – though I may return to that idea in the future. However, I now work for a career management company as their Office Manager/Administrator and I work with a team of people who are passionate about being your best person. How great is that?
And I have no doubt that Francine’s superb coaching set me towards my happy outcome!
