Boost Your Self-Confidence
Like Yourself
The most important single ingredient is liking yourself. People who like themselves are light-hearted and optimistic, they are comfortable with themselves and easy to be around, they always seem to be lucky and they are generous.
- Do you like you?
- Are you thankful for the particular qualities and talents that you have?
- Are you genuinely grateful to be you?
Choose Your Thoughts Carefully
You are the sum total of your thoughts. 'As a man thinketh so he is.' The only difference between an optimist and a pessimist is what they chose to focus on. At any time you are free to choose which thoughts you hold on to and which ones you let go.
Study Confident People
A great way to achieve what you want in life is to find out how others have achieved it and then do the same things. Look out for people who have glowing self-confidence and notice their characteristics.
Choose Your Influences
You can't avoid exposure to all kinds of influences and opinions. The important thing here is to be aware of what influences you and to make choices about the influences that you choose. Flood your mind with the most inspiring thoughts and idea's you can find. Develop an immunity to pessimism so that you don't absorb it and make sure that you spend at least 30 mins each day reading or listening to something uplifting.
Beware Comparisons
The quickest way to deflate your well-earned self-confidence is to compare your self to the wrong people. In a nanosecond you can puncture your pride in yourself, which is a terrible waste of time which means you have to work to rebuild it. Forget comparisons instead choose great role models to follow - people who have qualities and characteristics which you admire and from which you can learn.
