Five Top Tips For Recharging Your Life

1. Set Yourself That Big Goal!

What would you really like to do? Don't shy away from your dreams here – this is the moment to step up and go for it. Whether you want to run the London marathon, become a cordon bleu cook, or start that new company, get clear, get focused, and above all, get going!

2. Get Physical

All planning and achievement takes energy, and the connection between mental and physical energy all require that you be in tiptop condition. Autumn can be one of the best times of year to step outside and get physical. Whether you take up swimming, jogging, walking, gym, squash – whatever, chose a collection of sports you like or would like to do, and set about doing them. Set yourself measurable targets, have fun - and feel energy levels rise.

3. Reward Yourself

Decide now how you're going to celebrate regularly. It's important to recognise and reward your endeavours from time to time, whether it's a holiday, weekend away, health spa pampering session – you choose. Personally, I like to feel the winter sun a couple of times per year, and I know many others who do the same. For me, this type of holiday is at one time a reward for the work I've done, a re-charge in the sun, and a great time to catch up on some of my favourite reading. What would it be for you?

4. Take Yourself Seriously

Take yourself, and your big idea seriously. It's amazing how we defeat ourselves even before the journey's begun. Why? Because we don't want to fail... or be seen to fail... or equally we can be scared of sticking out like a sore thumb if we were to succeed big. Get over it and treat you and your plans with the respect they deserve.

5. Write It Down

The best ideas in the world will sooner or later float out of your head the same way they floated in - in an instant. It's been proven time and again that the top 3% of achievers in the world write their ideas down. They doodle, they scribble, they jot – it doesn't have to look pretty, but you do have to record and then be able to re-read those nuggets again and again and again.
