Module 1: Components of deliberate creating
Welcome to Module 1
Do you remember that feeling you had when you were a child? The excitement of peeling back the gift wrap of a present, catching a glimpse of something inside and realising that it was exactly what you were wishing for?
Or the buzz of being the giver of that perfect gift? Watching your ‘special someone’ thrill in its discovery?
These are the sort of feelings that show that you are operating from a position of joy and love, and the ability to capture and recreate these feelings will give you the power you need to tune into the Law of Attraction and create your own perfect reality.
Recommendation
While all the material in this course is available to you right now, I strongly suggest that you complete each of the modules in order.
Each module includes a number of exercises (“Actions of the week”) that require you to do some work! You will get most benefit from the course by taking your time and completing all the exercises before moving forward to the next module.
The history of the Law of Attraction
You may already know something about the Law of Attraction, or this may be your first experience of it. However, what you may not realise is that the principles of the Law of Attraction have been in evidence throughout history, and have spanned cultural and religious divides. From the Buddha, who stated that “What you have thought has determined what you have become” to the Greek philosophers and famous artists and scientists, such as Leonardo de Vinci, Raphael and Albert Einstein, many of our great minds have followed the Law of Attraction.
A number of publications during the early part of the 20th century, such as Ernest Holmes’ ‘The Science of Mind’ in 1926, Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’ in 1937 and Dr Raymond Holliwell’s ‘Working with the Law’ in 1949, have worked with the principles of the Law of Attraction.
More recently, in the early 1990’s, Jerry and Esther Hicks spread the teachings of the Law of Attraction through their communication with Source Energy they named ‘Abraham’, and since 2000, many articles and books have been written concerning all aspects of the Law of Attraction, most notably ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne in 2006.
Many of these teachings touch on the science behind the Law of Attraction. With the growth of the study of Quantum Physics, and the wisdom of great physicists like Albert Einstein, has come the realisation that everything in the Universe, including thought waves, is made up of energetic particles, and that solid matter is formed of vibrating atoms. Much of science now backs up what our ‘Metaphysical Philosophers’ have known for centuries about the Law of Attraction, paving the way for everyone on this planet to be the conscious creator of their own reality!
So, you can see that the Law of Attraction is not a new concept. Should you wish to delve deeper into the historical and scientific background of the Law of Attraction, a simple internet search will deliver a seemingly endless source of information for your consideration. For now, let us return to the matter in hand – using the Law of Attraction to create your own reality.
The basic elements of deliberate creation

Deliberate creation requires three elements:
1. THOUGHTS: get very clear about the thoughts you want
2. FEELINGS: raise your emotional vibration until it matches what you want
3. ALLOWING: allow what you want to come to you and let go of resistance
Each of these elements, while powerful, in isolation will not create manifestation, i.e. cause your thoughts to materialise in the physical world. Together, however, they cause the changes in energy required to strongly attract the physical manifestation of your mental desires. We will explore these elements in more depth in Parts 2 and 3 of this module.
Thoughts
The basis of the Universal Law of Attraction is ‘that which you give your thought to, you begin to invite into your experience’, without exception. We will explore in more detail how and why this happens in later modules, but, for now, simply accept that EVERYTHING in the Universe is, in its purest form, a vibration. We are all fundamentally ‘energy beings’ and that it is through our aligning the ‘vibration’ of OUR inner energy with the vibration of our desires that the Universe can deliver to us what we want. We do this with our thoughts and feelings.
The more effort and energy you put into a thought, the more powerful it becomes and the faster it will manifest or appear in your life. Be careful what you focus on though, as the same thing happens when you think of something you do NOT want. Let’s try to explain this…
• How often have you found yourself in a similar situation – time and time again?
• How often in relationships have you ‘attracted’ the ‘wrong’ type of person?
The reality is that even though you are devoting your attention and focus to NOT being in these kind of situations, the Universe does not recognise ‘don’t, not and no’. By playing such thoughts over and over in your mind, as we are prone to do with something we are unhappy about, you are telling the Universe…‘I am keeping this in my attention’…and the Universe responds with…’Okay, I’ll keep giving you more of that’. Choose your thoughts carefully! We will look more closely at how to identify who you are and what you want to create in your life later in this module.
Feelings

How do you feel about the following statement?
‘The Law of Attraction is behind everything that happens in your life including success, failure, car crashes, stubbed toes, surprise birthday parties, great friendships, and even rotten friendships!’
Surprised? Well, by its very definition, the Law of Attraction determines that everything you experience in your life is a result of the thought / emotional vibrations you have created, matched by similar vibrations in the Universe.
• Feel good…and you will attract more of the things that make you feel good
• Feel bad…and you will attract more of the things that make you feel bad
So, if you want to experience something different in your life, whether it’s more money, more love, more freedom, more fun or more adventure, then you need to be able to raise your own thoughts / feelings / vibrational frequency to match the frequency of what you want.
Your feelings / emotions can be used to indicate how closely your own vibration is aligned with that of your desires and the Universal Source of Energy, i.e. your personal Emotional Positioning System (EPS). Consider where your current feelings are positioned on the emotional scale below. In order for your thoughts to manifest, your emotions should range between 1 and 5.
1. Bliss – total connection – gratitude – no resistance
2. Joy – happiness – excitement
3. Knowing – love – freedom – calmness
4. Believing – faith – trust
5. Hopefulness – relief – possibility
6. Worry – doubt – discouragement
7. Overwhelmed – pessimism – distraction
8. Irritation – impatience – agitation
9. Aggravation – confusion – irritation
10. Frustration – fear – blame
11. Anger – rage – hate
12. Depression – procrastination – cynicism
13. Powerlessness – isolation – vulnerability
Wherever you are on the emotional scale, concentrate on finding a ‘better feeling’ thought. It doesn’t have to be a huge leap at first. For example, if you are in a state of worry, then try and change your thoughts to those of hopefulness – one step up on the scale. This will automatically raise your emotional vibration.
It’s as simple as that! Choose to feel happiness and joy – among the higher of the vibrational frequencies – and you will be rewarded with more of the same. As you begin to use the Law of Attraction consciously in your life, you will become a Master of attracting what you desire by learning to infuse your desires with feeling / emotion and to raise your vibrations through joyful thoughts.
Allowing
A key step in using the Law of Attraction is the process of allowing. This is often overlooked in the excitement of deciding on the best thoughts and feelings to manifest our desires.
After choosing what we want and raising our emotional vibration to match our desire and that of the Universe, we often consciously decide to start TAKING ACTION in the hope of making our desires appear. We might work harder to make more money, or we might join a dating service to meet the partner of our dreams.
To be clear, there is nothing wrong with these actions, but, in accordance with the Law of Attraction, we don’t actually need to DO anything or TRY to make things happen for our desires to manifest. We simply LET GO and allow the Universe to deliver what we want. The Universe may require us to act as part of the manifestation process, but this differs from any forced action we may decide to take, and will usually be felt as an impulse or nudge in a certain direction – more on how to recognise Universe-driven action later.
This concept of allowing may be in direct conflict with how we have been brought up, i.e. we are often taught that hard work is a way of life and that nothing comes freely….if you want something, you have to work for it, etc. Prepare to suspend your disbelief; the Law of Attraction simply offers you an alternative path to a similar destination.
So how do we allow?
1. Allowing is learning to LET GO and trusting that the Universe will deliver ‘your order’ in the most beautiful and effortless way possible. In asking the Universe to manifest our desires, our first question is often ‘HOW will the Universe manifest what I want?’ This is where we frequently go wrong! You see, we need to LET GO of the HOW and instead focus on the end result. As far as the Universe is concerned, our desire is already a ‘done deal’, but by refusing to LET GO of the HOW, we resist the process, effectively disallowing or blocking our desires from appearing.
2. To allow, we also need to LET GO of the WHEN. Feeling impatience about the speed at which the Universe manifests our desires is another way of resisting or disallowing. Many people struggle with having to wait for the Universe’s timing; they want it now! However, this puts them in a place of ‘wanting’, and as before, we get what we give our attention to, which in this case is ‘more wanting’. To be truly in a place of no resistance, we need put our trust in the Universe and affirm to ourselves that our desire is on its way and will manifest at exactly the right time.
3. Finally, we must feel a sense of appreciation. This can seem difficult if we are currently unhappy with our lives, but, once again, everything comes back to what we focus our thoughts and feelings on. Even in difficult situations, finding some aspect to appreciate raises our vibration and we immediately begin to attract more things to appreciate. We could start small with…‘I appreciate my lovely cosy bed’…and build up to…‘I appreciate the challenges in front of me and having the chance to work with such amazing people’.
Universe-driven action – coincidence and synchronicity
As we improve our allowing skills, the Universe will provide coincidences for us to notice to help our desires become manifest. It might be in the form of inspiration to start a business, buy a lottery ticket, attend a lecture, read a particular book, or any number of other actions.
If we ACT on these Divine nudges, more opportunities appear. This process is referred to as synchronicity, whereby events / opportunities seem to be perfectly orchestrated to appear just when we need them. By taking these opportunities, we create an opening that can help our desires to become manifest simply and easily, and often quickly.
All we have to do is pay attention to the world around us, listen to our heart and believe that we will be led to where we need to be. Look for that good feeling – we should feel excited and inspired. We will touch on this subject again as we progress through this course as it’s a key factor in our ongoing communications with the Universe.
Who are you and what do you want to create?
At this stage, it is important to note that the Law of Attraction teaches us to recognise our personal preferences by becoming aware of our feelings. By asking yourself, “Which feels better – this or that?”, and taking the time to notice your feelings, you can learn much about yourself in a way that can lead to great personal freedom and happiness.
Only you can choose what is best for you. Knowing and honouring your personal preferences will allow you to naturally fulfil ALL of your life purposes in a way that conforming to other people’s expectations will not.
Self-actualisation – recognising your potential
The psychologist, Abraham Maslow defined self-actualisation as the ongoing process of fully developing your personal potential. He said, “Find out who you are, what you are, what you like and don’t like, what is good and what is bad for you, where you are going, what your mission is.”
In order to become an effective self-actualiser, there are some questions that you can ask yourself to get you moving in the right direction:
1. Are you really living? Are you living a life that you find deeply rewarding and meaningful? It’s a question you’ll need to ask yourself regularly.
2. Are you willing to face your fears? Are you creating resistance because of fear? Life choices should be based on a desire to grow, rather than as a reaction to fear.
3. Are you willing to change? You need to be willing to change, take ACTION and carve out a new direction.
4. Are you willing to take responsibility? You are the creator of your own reality; don’t wait for someone else to lead your life. It’s your life and it’s up to you to make the changes so that your life holds greater fulfilment.
5. Are you willing to revel in your uniqueness? Creativity is not following the herd – enjoy being different. Learn to trust and to follow your impulses.
By understanding these aspects of yourself, you will be perfectly placed to use the Law of Attraction to manifest your best desires and realise YOUR potential.
Contrast to clarity
Contrast to clarity is another useful process that helps you to use past experiences to determine your future ‘wants’. By studying different areas of your life, e.g. work, you will be able to identify a range of behaviours, characteristics and feelings that you definitely ‘DON’T want’ to be repeated in future experiences – contrast. You can then turn each one of these negative elements into a positive element that you ‘DO want’ – clarity. For example, if you identify ‘poor listener’ as something you ‘DON’T want’ in a future work colleague, you can achieve clarity by simply rephrasing this to be something you ‘DO want’, i.e. ‘great listening skills’.
You now understand that the Law of Attraction brings you what you focus your thoughts and feelings on, so use the process of contrast to clarity to help identify positive and empowering thoughts and feelings from now on!
ACTIONS OF THE WEEK
1) What do you want?
Decide what it is that you want to achieve by using the Law of Attraction in your life.
2) Become aware of your thoughts and emotions
Take time to ‘listen’ to your internal dialogue, be aware of how you feel in every situation. Use your EPS to find your place on the scale. Try raising your emotions to the next level.
3) Where does your true happiness lie?
Begin self-actualising – who are you, what are you, what do you and don’t you like, what is good and bad for you, where are you going, what is your mission? If you don’t know, try asking the Universe to help you find your answers.
4) Contrast to clarity
Apply the contrast to clarity process in key aspects of your life that you want to change. Begin by drawing a table with two columns: ‘Things I DON’T want’ on the left and ‘Things I DO want’ on the right. Focus on the situation that you want to change, and in the left-hand column write as many things as you can describing what you ‘DON’T want’ to experience. Then, in the right-hand column, change these statements into experiences that you ‘DO want’. For example, you might want more money in your life, in which case your table could look something like this…focus on the good. These are your new thoughts!

Well done! It is important, as you start your Law of Attraction journey, that you complete your ACTIONS on a regular basis. This will help to change the way you have been thinking and by changing the way you think …you change your life.
