Squaring dreams with reality

My dilemma is how best to square dreams with reality.
I am in a safe reasonably interesting job but my main passion is writing comedy and for the stage. I have now started winning new-writer awards for my comedy and recently staged own sketch show with another writer which was a huge success. If I gave it a big push I could really go somewhere with it- but it can’t run side by side with the job.
Luckily I’ve not got dependents etc yet so in theory there’s nothing to stop me other than basically knowing others who’ve tried the jump and fallen short, then regretted it.

Reality is the result of your dreaming. Now whether you dream small or big is up to you. Either way, you are creating your eventual reality. It looks like you have been dreaming pretty big and the reality is showing up with terrific results. It sounds to me that your problem is not one of dreams and reality but of good old fashioned fear.
You have a wonderful opportunity, you have so little downside. I could be reasonable and balanced here and give you a line about "only you know what is best for you" but heck, I'm in the business of achieving dreams. The world needs more comedy, the world needs more people who are out there doing what they love and living the life of their dreams.
If for a moment, you lack a little confidence to take the step, borrow some, get yourself a coach and get going.
