Five Tips To Stay Strong And Forge Ahead

Ignore the credit crunchEverywhere you look today it’s ‘the credit crunch,’ ‘square-mile stress’ or ‘the dollar to pound exchange.’

People are despondent and pessimistic and if we’re not careful that attitude can be contagious. It won’t do.

Consider what you really want. Don’t join the doom and gloomers who will always find something to moan about. Stay strong and focused and keep moving forward.

1 Grab that fear

Fear is – scary! It makes you want to avoid it and run away from what is frightening you. The best thing to do is to face it and acknowledge it.

This takes courage but just facing the fear will defuse its charge and empower you. Fear can cause you to panic, especially if others are sharing that fear and magnifying it.

Grasp the actual facts of the situation and their potential consequences.

2 Keep a perspective

The nature of a financial crisis is to focus on scarcity, on what we lack or are losing. Fear, anger, and frustration arise as a consequence. To shift this dynamic, focus on what you have and to be grateful for it.

‘Counting your blessings’ is a good habit and helps you keep your situation in perspective. Metaphysical teaching says gratitude is the key to attracting prosperity.

The more blessed and prosperous you feel, the more you attract more of the same!

3 Watch your response

It’s not what happens that will make or break you. It’s your response. Make the best of everything by seeing the opportunity in everything.

Your future will unfold depending on your decisions and actions. Stay in the driving seat. Embrace change rather than be swept along or have change imposed from without.

4 Keep moving

Nothing gets your energy flowing like physical activity. It can be as simple as breathing. How often have you been told when you’re feeling panicky to just take some deep breaths?

Walking is another wonderful way to restore energy flow. Do something that gets your heart pumping, your blood flowing, and your body throwing off the chemical toxins that fear can produce.

5 Stay connected to others

Don’t cut yourself off because you’re feeling fearful. Don’t limit your communication and contact with the larger world from which help may come. Reach out and be there for others.

The simplest step is to talk out your fears with another, not in a needy way-and certainly not just to pass them on and make another afraid – but as calmly and openly as you can, and then to listen quietly and openly if another shares their fears with you.

Have your say!
